The icon of Cruz de Alba, Finca Los Hoyales comes from a minuscule 1.8 ha parcel of Tempranillo planted in 1958 along the Duero River – one of Ribera’s most venerable vineyards. This old-vine, biodynamic wine is profoundly concentrated and impeccably polished. Opaque cherry-red with a garnet rim, it unfolds slowly to reveal a “thousand nuances” of aroma: blackberries and dark cherry, violet and cedar, wild sage, mineral graphite, and smoky cocoa, all emerging in elegant succession.
